If you’re feeling despondent over the federal government’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord, all is not lost. A coalition of states, cities, and businesses is petitioning the UN to be allowed to join the agreement.
According to the New York Times, “By redoubling their climate efforts, [Michael Bloomberg] said, cities, states and corporations could achieve, or even surpass, the pledge of the administration of former President Barack Obama to reduce America’s planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions 26 percent by 2025, from their levels in 2005.”
Please call your governor’s office today to ask him to add your state to the list. “I am calling to ask the governor to add our state to the coalition of states, cities, and businesses that are petitioning to join the Paris Climate Accord independently.”
